How to Book Your Appointment

There are a number of ways that you can arrange to see me, within the next few weeks.

The most common way is your GP has identified that you may have a heart rhythm problem that needs further investigation and treatment. Your GP will then write a referral letter for you to be seen by a cardiologist. However, cardiologists specialise in different areas and if you have symptoms of a heart rhythm condition, at this point it is important to ask to be referred to a heart rhythm specialist.

Health Insurance

If you are covered by health insurance, then please let your GP know you would like to use it as your specialist consultation will need to be pre-authorised by your insurance company. When your GP writes a referral letter, insurance companies request that an “open letter” is written. The insurer may then only offer several options for cardiologists to you. However, you can specifically request to see me directly with the insurance company who should facilitate this – I am recognised by all major insurers.

Self paying Patients

If you already suspect you have a heart rhythm problem and want to arrange to see me directly, then you can book with me directly without having to visit your GP to write a referral. Most patients choose this option as they want peace of mind.

Fees for the first consultation are £200 and any follow up is £150, my secretary will send an invoice and payment is via bank transfer. Any tests or procedures that are required are billed separately by the hospital. In order to make the most out of your appointment, it is very helpful to have any previous cardiology clinic letters and investigation results.

Steps to Book

  1. See your GP & ask for a referral to see me (insurance only, self pay patients can self refer)

  2. Contact your insurance company & pre-authorise your clinic appointment, and find out what excess you might have to pay

  3. Contact my secretary Sachiel on support@heartrhythmdoctor.net for availability

  4. Sachiel will explain to you how to book into one of my private clinics, depending on what type of appointment you would like

NHS – I would be happy to receive a referral from your GP for treatment in my NHS practices at St. George’s Hospital in London or at Queen Marys Hospital, Roehampton. Please note my current NHS clinic waitlist is 6 months.
