Dr Li was born and raised in South London and graduated with distinction from St George’s University of London. He trained in cardiology and general medicine at leading hospitals across London, Surrey, and the South of England. He also holds a postdoctoral research degree focused on advancing techniques for accurately locating heart rhythm abnormalities.
He further refined his expertise in heart rhythm care during advanced training at King’s College London, St George’s Hospital, and the world-renowned UCLA Cardiac Arrhythmia Center in Los Angeles. This experience allows him to offer cutting-edge treatments for complex arrhythmias that may not be widely available in the UK — providing hope and solutions to patients who have exhausted standard options.

Dr Li is actively involved in cardiac research, education, and leadership. He has published extensively in major journals such as Circulation: Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology, Heart Rhythm Journal, and Europace. He co-leads the AVATAR (Advanced Ventricular Arrhythmia Training and Research) programme, working with colleague Dr Magdi Saba to develop computer modelling that predicts the origin of life-threatening arrhythmias — helping to shape the future of cardiac care worldwide.

In recognition of his contributions to the field, Dr Li serves on the e-communications committee for the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA), playing an active role in advancing education, awareness, and international collaboration within the electrophysiology community.
